US Studies State First Vaccine of Covid Improves Mental Health

According to a new study conducted in US, administering the covid-19 dose improves mental well-being of the recipient and may not experience stress. The study has been published by the Centre for Economic and Social Research (CESR) at the University of Southern California. The study is published in PLOS journal. The study states that first dose of covid-19 vaccines shows significant improvements in the Mental Health of the recipient.

The study was conducted on regularly examining 8,003 adults who has received first dose of vaccine. The study found that people who got the vaccination between Dec 2020 and March 2021 showed decreased level of mental stress. However, other scientist around the world said that even though the study was undertaken on huge number of recipients, it does have any biological evidence showing improved Mental Health.

The scientists said that the US researchers have looked at short term impact after vaccination. It is difficult to compare the Mental Health of vaccinated and un-vaccinated people, said the scientists. They said, it will need a long term and robust trial with logistic support, design, and funding.

The study has also found that many recipients who were examined faced anxiety or depression and some reported poor well-being.
