US CDC Recommends Covid-19 Vaccine Boosters Moderna and J&J Recipients

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that recipients of Moderna and J&J covid vaccine can also take vaccine shots of other companies. The CDC said that covid-19 vaccines approved in United States can mitigate the risks of covid infection, further hospitalization, fatality due to severe symptoms. Also, the vaccines are effective on the Delta variant, CDC director Rochelle Welensky stated. The panel of advisors to the CDC backed the booster shots of covid-19 vaccine.

The recommendations given by the panel of advisers to the CDC also open door of recipients’ who received single shots of J&J vaccine. The panel recommended that the recipients of Moderna and J&J covid vaccine can also take vaccine shots of other companies. The Pfizer and Moderna have shown to provide better protection from the virus undertaking a variety of studies.

Though these vaccines have shown better results in mitigating severe symptoms and fatality, some government scientists have suggested that booster shots are necessary to strengthen or sustain the immunity. The scientists say that, booster doses are necessary to keep the immunity high in protecting against the strong variant of covid-19 that is delta variant.

The CDC recommended booster dose for everyone who received the one shot dose of J&J at least two months earlier. FDA and CDC are under great pressure since US President announced the widespread vaccination campaign plans in August. Other countries have also begun offering booster doses.
