CDC Recommends mRNA Vaccine Over J&J Vaccine Shot

The US health advisory CDC has recommended that Americans should be given Pfizer or Moderna vaccine shots over Johnson & Johnson vaccine shot. The Johnson & Johnson vaccine shot is said to have negative implications like blood clots.

The blood clots in patients occurred after administering the J&J shots caused 9 confirmed deaths in US whereas the vaccines of Pfizer and Moderna do not come with that risk and are more effective, advised the CDC and Prevention Board. Now it’s upto Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the director of CDC whether to accept the advice from the panel.

Until now, the CDC had treated equally all the three vaccines of the companies available in US since studies undertaken at huge stage found that all three vaccines offer strong protection against the covid-19 virus and the variants that emerged later like Delta and others. The single dose vaccine of J&J was welcomed by CDC targeted mostly to the homeless people who might not get the needed second dose of Pfizer or Moderna.

Over 200 Million Americans are fully vaccinated of which 16 million people are vaccinated with J&J shot. Recognizing the results after vaccinating the people with J&J vaccine showed that it causes blood clots that may put life of the person at risk. Until now, 9 death cases confirmed that they were vaccinated J&J and faced blood clots. Hence, the US health advisory panel of CDC has recommended that Americans should be given Pfizer or Moderna vaccine shots over Johnson & Johnson vaccine shot
